How do I find the right festival strategy?

Do festivals pay to be listed?

No. Festivals do not buy their place. We do not take money from festivals to list them or bump their score. Rankings come from our published criteria and from public or cited data only.

How do you make money?

We do not right now. It is a research project. If that changes, we will say so.

Why these criteria?

We use measures that line up with real outcomes: how long a festival has been around, Oscar and BAFTA qualifying, scale, engagement, selectivity. It is all defined on How we score. You can see how we apply it.

How often is data updated?

We add festivals and data every day. Big changes to methodology or definitions go on the How we score page.
